Teriyaki Chicken Crock Pot Recipe
Ingredients Table:
Ingredient | Quantity |
Chicken thighs (boneless, skinless) | 2 pounds |
Soy sauce | ½ cup |
Brown sugar | ⅓ cup |
Garlic (minced) | 3 cloves |
Fresh ginger (minced) | 2 teaspoons |
Sesame oil | 1 tablespoon |
Cornstarch | 2 tablespoons |
Water | ¼ cup |
Sesame seeds | For garnish |
Green onions (sliced) | For garnish |
White rice | For serving |
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in the crock pot.
- Make the Teriyaki Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Add Sauce to Chicken: Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture over the chicken in the crock pot. Stir to ensure all the chicken pieces are coated.
- Cook: Set the crock pot to low and cook for 4-5 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through.
- Thicken the Sauce: About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir this into the crock pot to thicken the sauce.
- Prepare Rice: Cook white rice according to package instructions.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the chicken is done, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve over a bed of white rice.
- Enjoy!: Your teriyaki chicken is ready to be enjoyed.
